Ashley Grebe is a cross-genre musician and music educator. She has been actively playing and teaching music in the US and abroad for fifteen years. Ashley is passionate about exploring the infinite world of music, musically innovating, and facilitating collaboration.

 

Primarily a violinist and Fiddler, Ashley has held the position of Artistic Director of the Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic, America’s premiere youth fiddling show band, since 2015. Working to facilitate collaboration between young musicians and leaders in the field, in the past year, she and her youth fiddle ensemble have been privileged to work with Liz Carroll, Kevin Burke, Brian Conway, Caoimhin O Raghallaigh, Christan Howes, Jeremy Kittel, Darol Anger, Alasdair Fraser, and Ricky Skaggs.

 

Ashley strives to innovate and create new material for her students. She has arranged and composed dozens of works for educational string ensembles, folk performing ensembles, recording projects, and more. 

An active clinician, Ashley has presented clinics for music educators and student ensembles in the US and abroad. Her sessions focus on folk music in the classroom and improvisation and creative composition in instrumental music education.

She graduated from DePaul University in her native Chicago with a Bachelor of Music in music education. She then moved to Israel in 2011 where she became fluent in Hebrew and pursued her Masters Degree in string instrument education and pedagogy at Tel Aviv University. Her hobbies include travel, learning, eating and cooking, meeting people, being in nature, and creating art.
